Barefoot, Havelock
Armed with the whimsical dream of living on an island that shared a name with my late father, I first approached Barefoot Resorts in 2012. Now ten years later, I have had the pleasure of spending three seasons (2018 - 2020 included) in this gorgeous forest property on the beach as not only their exclusive in-house evening entertainment at their lounge bar, but enhanced their clients' experiences in a variety of ways, listed below.

IN-HOUSE MUSICIAN

Six nights a week, two hours a night. One new song every evening, requests on tap! Occasional game nights and karaoke nights; special shows for groups and eventful days such as Valentine's Day (pictured above)
and serenading for special private dinner set ups on the beach.
YOGA TEACHER

Although it was for just one season (rudely interrupted by the pandemic), sunrise classes on the beach was the highlight of my most recent season with Barefoot. I got certified in Hatha Yoga at the encouragement of the management in the summer of 2019, and since then, teaching has been very special to me.

KIDS ACTIVITIES

Although I work very often with children now, primarily in music and body movement, my first year with Barefoot was early days for me in this field. I organised arts and crafts sessions and taught hula hooping as well. Although families do travel to spend time together, it's always nice to be able to provide parents with a little alone time! Having said that, I've also organised sessions that can involve both parents and children.

THE TREE WALK
One of the most fascinating things about the Andaman islands is the development of its flora and fauna thanks to its unique geographical placement. A nemophilist by nature, I was more than happy to spend time at ANET learning enough about the trees from the local dendrologist to construct an educational walk around the resort premises with an illustrated book accompaniment.
NYE STAFF VARIETY SHOW
The two things that dominate the experience of living in and working at a resort are hard work and making a family out of the people you work alongside with.
Thanks to supportive and enthusiastic management, we had a very special new year's eve celebration where the guests were very entertained and the hard working people behind the scenes got to shine and have fun.
It was my pleasure to organize, emcee and perform in this very special show
